Poco Dolce Chocolates: Communications Strategy

Client: Poco Dolce Artisan Chocolates

Brief: This client approached me with a request to assess their current marketing communications (including product copy, in-store kiosks, web and email) and to make recommendations for a new, updated communications strategy, complete with style guide, brand voice, SWOT analysis, and brand statement.

Response: The first phase of this project was to conduct a round of interviews with the CEO/founder, wholesale clients, retail employees, a chocolate industry expert, and user reviews, to discover how the brand was currently being talked about and marketed. Next I reviewed the actual products (yum), and dove into all current marketing materials including package copy, in-store signage and site/email campaigns. Last, after synthesizing what Iā€™d learned, I created a deck that included my audit/summarization of the current materials + strategic direction on future marketing and product language and content (including brand voice, brand statement, and web/packaging/visual recommendations). The client/founder found these materials very helpful and successfully implemented them in her marketing strategy for the following year.
